The beach and warm Gulf water are much the same as Padre Island National Seashore. However, the campground at Mustang Island does have electrical and water hook-ups. There are also many more shelters and picnic tables on the beach, but that is where the advantages end. At Mustang Island, the campground is much farther from the beach, little sea breeze makes it to your campsite, there is little space between campsites, the restrooms are up 18 stair steps, the showers provide little privacy, and it is more expensive at $20 per day plus $5 per adult admission per day. |
