City of Newhalem

Newhalem is the closest town to the three primary campgrounds and if you just need an item or two the general store is handy. It is only a mile from Newhalem Campground.

For restaurants, gas, a post office, a room or a larger selection of groceries, Marblemount is your best bet. It is 14 miles west of Newhalem Campground or 25 miles west of Colonial Creek Campground.

Here in Marblemount you will find gas stations, a post office,
several restaurants and diners, BBQ in a caboose, a place to
stay, hardware and supplies.
