Malaquite Beach Campground does not have electrical or water hook-ups, but in all other respects it is superior to the other campground on the neighboring island. |
You can register, pay and reserve your campsite any time night or day at the kiosk just left of where the park road enters the campground. |

a shelter, BBQ grill, diagonal gravel parking and a marked parallel parking space on the asphalt. Some face the SE and some the NE - pick your site based on wind direction if possible. This campground is close to the water and with a nice sea breeze through the RV, I survived with just a fan - no air conditioning in mid July. |
None of the campsites on the west side of the road have shelters or BBQ grills. They are fully paved. Bring your own grill and roll out the awning. There are several parking spaces, about 9 or 10, dispersed on this side of the campground for primitive beach campers. No grill, shelter or picnic table. |
This is a long narrow campground, everybody is close to the water. |
The restrooms have flush toilets. There are three lavatories in the mens room. What the NPS calls "modern". |
The shower rooms are large, private with locks, shelves, adjustable shower seats, grab bars, a regular shower head and a shower for your feet. Unlike the cold rinse off showers in so many parks, these have warm water. |
There are also outdoor rinse off showers |
