| vegetation and little shade, except for sites 4, 7, 8, 9, and 17 that have partial shade in the evening; otherwise, if you want shade bring your own. Long trailers and fifth wheels are not recommended on the campground road west of site 22, that part of the road is narrow with sharp turns. Unless you live on a volcano, this will be a unique experience for you. The campground and interpretive trails provide the opportunity to walk through a volcanic landscape much as it was shortly after cooling. |
