Blackwoods Campground is on the eastern half of the island and so are all of the carriage roads. If walking or cycling the
carriage roads are a primary consideration, Blackwoods the best campground for you. Blackwoods is 5 miles south of  Bar
Harbor - more convenient if many of your planned activities will be in town.

Unlike Seawall where only half of the campsites can be reserved, all of the campsites at Blackwoods Campground are
reservable. And reserved they were. If you plan to camp in Blackwoods, plan ahead and make reservations. Bob tends to
make unscheduled stops as he travels, so he seldom makes reservations. As a result, we do not have any photos or
personal experience with Blackwoods. Next time we'll make reservations
